Graeme Gales was born and raised in Plymouth. He then later moved to work in Kent, but with his roots firmly in Devon, Graeme has been a regular visitor to the West Country these past 30 years. Growing up close to the  coastline has left an indelible imprint on him and this can be clearly seen in the timeless images he seeks to create. The sea has always profoundly influenced Graeme and perhaps it was understandable that many of Graeme’s earliest photos revealed his fascination with seascapes and Devon’s beautiful countryside.

Graeme likes nothing better than to share his love of the South Hams and his passion for photography and sailing. Graeme’s interest in photography has developed into more than just a hobby ever since he went digital in 2002. After a few commissioned photos for School House, a national educational magazine, and coordinating three highly successful exhibitions in the "tunnel " and the "Gallery", Tonbridge; Graeme has been acquiring a growing reputation for leading the PAP photographic group and organising several urban workshops and residential photographic courses in South Devon.  Graeme’s work has been inspired by a number of different sources; From his time spent living in South Africa, to buying his cottage near Kingsbridge. The local environment has always provided a rich tapestry of subject material, All his photos are limited edition Giclee prints produced by Art4site Ltd on superb quality Hahnemuhle Photo Rag acid free paper.
